My story:
The more I read the New Testament the more I’m impressed and feel and know that I’m dealing with the real Bible. It gives me a lot of peace of mind to my soul and I feel like I’m using my time in the best way possible. I get so much light and love from Yeshua.
But the reality is, it means breaking a lot of significant relationships. I pray and request from Jesus that he’d give me the strength and confidence to be ready to step back from the relationships that hinder me in my new faith.
I feel that I’m now learning the living words of God so that I am able show the truth to my rabbis and Kabbalah instructors, but I don’t want to because of my respect for them.
When Jesus came to live in my heart the book of Genesis suddenly seemed very logical, and all the Torah did in fact. The whole Bible seems very clear now. But those I tell this to don’t like it and discourage me from taking this position. But I feel Jesus is filling me with His love… Without Jesus I had no way to approach God, and I had tried a lot.
What to know
- The New Testament is generally considered taboo and even dangerous in Jewish circles. You cannot buy it in Israeli bookshops. When Jewish people finally get hold of a copy and dare to read it, they are usually surprised by how Jewish it is.
- Following Jesus, or even contemplating it, is considered off-limits in Jewish Israeli society. It is seen as a betrayal of your Jewish heritage, even though Jesus was Jewish! For that reason, the anonymity of the internet is the perfect place for seekers to find the answers they’re looking for.
- Jews who accept Yeshua as their Messiah are often outcast from their family, and face social rejection.
How to Pray
- Pray that this guy would be encouraged and strengthened as he seeks the truth.
- Pray that many more would get hold of the New Testament—and read it for themselves.
- Pray for courage and wisdom for new believers as they share their discoveries with others.
- Pray for us, as we support seekers and new believers who want to follow Jesus even though the cost is high.
