My story:
I’m Orthodox Jewish, not by my own choice, but I believe in Yeshua. I haven’t put the teffilfin on for a month now and I don’t keep the Shabbat properly these days – without even noticing. I want to talk to someone about this, can you help me? I want to be a Messianic Jew. How do you become one – is there some sort of procedure for this?
They used to tell me all the time that if you desecrate the Shabbat that God would kill you… so from that point I said to myself I’ve been living in a world of lies, all my life has been a lie.
I started to investigate on Google and searched for Messianic Jews and saw loads of your videos and it was then that I understood more about the world I’d been living in and from that point I became a believer in Yeshua. I don’t want to get baptized into Christianity or convert, but I just want to confess that Yeshua is the Lord of my life. I believe in my heart that he died for my sins on the cross and rose again on the third day.
What to know
- Although this man grew up feeling obliged to obey commandments and rules out of fear, other religious Jewish people try to keep the law out of genuine love for God. However, the law cannot take away the sin that we all commit.
- If people google “Yeshua” or “Messianic Jews” in Israel, they will always find our websites – we make sure of it!
- Jewish people see conversion to Christianity as deep betrayal. But according to the Bible, it’s gentiles who need to convert to follow the God of Israel, not the other way around! Christians are grafted in to the story of Israel, thanks to Messiah Jesus.
How to Pray
- Thank God for the fact that Israelis can search and find answers about Jesus in their own language so easily now.
- Pray for our team for wisdom and anointing as they connect with seekers like this person.
- Pray that God would give great courage to Israelis who are starting to explore the truth about Jesus, and to learn what it means to follow Him as a Jewish person.
