“But you shall seek the LORD at the place which the LORD your God will choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there for His dwelling, and there you shall come” (Deut 12:5).

Not of Our Choosing

Proclaiming “Yeshua is the only way” in our post-modern society is perceived as incredibly narrow, judgmental, and fundamentalist. There are, after all, many religions and there are many kinds of temples to worship God. But in a land filled with many gods and many sacred places (see Deut 12:2-3), Moses insisted there was only one place to worship the LORD. By saying “Yeshua is the only way,” we may not be acceptable to our post-modern critics, but we are fully aligned with the theology of Moses (Deut 12:5, 11; 16:6; 26:2). Access to the God of Israel never comes through any temple of our choosing, but only through the temple chosen by God!

“Jesus answered them, ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ The Jews then said, ‘It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?’ But He was speaking of the temple of His body. So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken” (John 2:19-22).
