In this Jewish testimonial video, Mottel Balestone, Director of the Messengers Messianic Fellowship and Professor of Messianic Jewish Studies, deconstructs the antisemitic misconceptions of the New Testament.

Mottel was always told that the New Testament represented antisemitism, that it was written by those who had persecuted the Jews, and had been used for thousands of years to attack the Jewish people. He was told to never read it, but as time passed, he grew ever more curious.  When he finally started to read it for himself, what he found shocked him.

“I opened it, here’s the first sentence, it says; “This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham,” so three people of legend, and they’re all Jewish.”
It was a powerful discovery, one that led him to realize Jesus as the Messiah we’ve been searching for.
“As I came to faith, that Yeshua was the Messiah, it was clear that was the most Jewish thing I could do, this is not a person who was a renegade to our people, this is the one who was promised in our Bible.”
After Mottel came to faith, it took him many months to share his discovery with his father, who was skeptical at first, but after a year and a half, finally came to the realization himself.
Coming to faith in Jesus as the Messiah evokes changes from within, it involves casting aside all previous conceptions or outlooks and instead, experiencing Jesus’ words for yourself.
