During the month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast and pray to get closer to Allah, our Arabic outreach team released a powerful video. It was the testimony of a man named Kareem who had trained as a terrorist, but came to faith in Jesus. His story garnered over a million views in just two weeks!
While the Islamic world celebrated Eid al Fitr at the end of Ramadan, there were parties in heaven as Muslims were discovering the God of Israel and His Messiah, Jesus. We perhaps shouldn’t be so surprised though. Many Muslims are sincere in trying to get closer to their Creator during Ramadan. And God promises that those who earnestly seek Him will find Him:
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12).
God has been pouring out His Spirit in many Islamic countries, and Jesus has been visiting many Muslims in dreams and visions.1 More than that, many believers all over the world have been praying for Muslims to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus throughout the month of Ramadan. And that is exactly what we have been seeing!
Without any paid promotion, the video organically spread like wildfire. So far there have been over 61,000 reactions on our Arabic Facebook page, the vast majority of which have been very positive. There have been over 23,000 comments and well over 7,000 shares!
And now our team have the almighty task of trying to respond to all those who are wanting to interact. Here are a few of the messages we have had so far…
From a Muslim man in Syria:
“I’m studying the word of God but at the same time I’m afraid to be wrong. And today I saw your page and I like it a lottttt!”
Carlos, who heads up our Arabic outreach team, had this conversation with another man from Yemen after a few days of correspondence:
“I want to be baptized ☺️ But what are the steps?”
Carlos told him that the most important thing is to ask the Lord to come to his life first and foremost. The man continued: “To ask Him… to ask my sins will be forgiven, and to accept Him as Lord, Creator, and Saviour. And to love Him.”
Taking these steps is a huge decision for a Muslim, since the penalty for following Jesus can be death. Someone else wrote,
“I love Jesus Christ and I want to follow Him, but I’m afraid if I do that I may die…”
Please pray for all those who are watching and responding to Kareem’s powerful testimony. Pray for many to be saved at this time, and also pray for the protection and nurture of all the Muslims who decide they want to follow Jesus.
