My story:
Jesus for me is undoubtedly a messianic figure, just because the fact that the Messiah was referred to as David by some of the prophets, showing that the Messiah will be a type of David but in a greater way. The suffering and rejection that David went through at the hands of his brothers and his people shows that the Messiah will also be rejected by his brothers in a greater and more humiliating way. It is necessary that the Messiah has to suffer, based on the messianic prophecy in Isaiah 53…
I’ve been praying to God and asking for clear answers from Him, that He would show me the truth in a way that is not ambiguous.
What to know
- The idea of “Messiah” can take many different forms within the different streams of Judaism. Some believe there is a “messiah” in every generation, and only when enough Jewish people keep the commandments will the Messianic age begin. Some think there is one individual person with that role, while others believe the idea of the Messianic age is just a concept to aim towards.
- It is possible to show that Jesus is the Messiah without ever turning to the New Testament – it’s all there in the Hebrew Scriptures!
- Encouraging Jewish people to ask God Himself for answers and revelation is a great way to help them along the road to faith.
How to Pray
- Please pray for the Lord to show this seeker the truth in a powerful way.
- Pray for all those who are longing for the Messiah’s coming, that they would investigate messianic prophecy in the Bible.
- Pray for believers to be bold in sharing their faith with family and friends, and to know how to do it with wisdom, gentleness, and respect.
