He is well known for his books, many of which were written during his time in prison. Wurmbrand was arrested for his faith in Jesus on February 29th in 1948 during the Communist takeover of Romania. After 15 years of prison and torture, Wurmbrand started a new life in the West and told his remarkable stories. He also founded an organization to help persecuted believers.
